Passwordless laptop sign-in

Your employee wakes the laptop, their phone buzzes, they touch the fingerprint sensor and the desktop opens. They never type, know or reset a password. The laptop’s local Windows account stays in place for IT, for break-glass and legacy use only.

How it works, in four steps

  1. 01Open the laptop.
  2. 02Your phone buzzes.
  3. 03Touch the fingerprint sensor.
  4. 04The laptop and your apps open.

See the sign-in on real hardware

The employee starts at the laptop, approves the request on their enrolled phone and reaches the desktop. The key that signs them in is held inside the phone’s security chip and never leaves it, so there is no password to phish, reuse or leak.

The demonstration follows the sign-in from phone approval to the open desktop.

Locks when they walk away

The laptop locks when the employee walks away and unlocks when they come back. Nobody forgets a fingerprint, so password-reset tickets for the laptop and every app signed in through CyberCyko go away, and so does the 90-day rotation reminder.

Know where it works

Today: Windows laptops are fully managed, and passwordless sign-in works on Windows and at the Mac lock screen. Management for Mac, Ubuntu, Android and iOS is in development. Employees need an iPhone or Android phone with a fingerprint or face sensor.

Desktop sign-in and device management have different scope

Signing in and managing the laptop are separate parts of Workforce. That is why a Mac can already sign in without a password at the lock screen while full Mac management is still in development.

Why removing the password matters: Phishing-resistant MFA without one-time codes.
